See All NewsWilson District - a working name that may change as planning progresses- is the second neighbourhood in development at YZD – envisioned as a walkable, transit-connected community shaped by the Downsview Secondary Plan and YZD's guiding vision.
Planning began in late 2024 and focuses on the careful design of:
- A complete street network — safe, accessible streets designed for walking, cycling and transit
- New housing and mixed-use buildings — intended to support a range of housing and employment opportunities
- Parks and public spaces — welcoming places for gathering, wellness and play
A draft plan is anticipated to be submitted to the City of Toronto in early 2026, and community input will play an important role in shaping the future of this emerging neighbourhood. Your input is key to shaping an inclusive, sustainable future for the Wilson District.
In the meantime, YZD continues to bring the site to life through early programming - including pop-up events, public art and cultural experiences that offer a glimpse of what the future of the site could become.
