YZD Saturdays

Every Saturday from 11AM - 5PM at the YZD Plaza and Experience Centre, you can enjoy free, family-friendly events, hands-on workshops and interactive pop-ups. Take a bite out of the YZD Farmers’ Market, enjoy live music, discover historic artifacts and experience our rotating programming that brings the spirit of YZD to life.

Land, Legacy and Learning

This June, YZD welcomes knowledge keepers and artists from the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Moccasin Identifier Project for a series of hands-on Saturday workshops celebrating Indigenous culture, craft, and connection.

Nature in Action

This July, Summer Saturdays go green with a series of nature-inspired workshops focused on sustainability, creativity, and environmental connection. Each session offers a unique opportunity for kids and families to get their hands dirty—literally!—while learning about pollinators, native plants, and local wildlife.

Buzz & Build

This August, we’re celebrating the power of pollinators through a special three-part series of bee-inspired workshops. From candle-making to bee hotel building and honey harvesting, each session offers a hands-on opportunity to learn, create, and support urban biodiversity.

Farmers’ Market

Every Saturday from June 14 to October 11, the YZD Farmers Market invites you to experience the best of local food and community.

Runway Rivers

Experience Runway Rivers at YZD, where painted waterways and wheeled canoes bring lost streams back to life along the Runway tarmac.

YZD Plaza

Imagination takes flight at YZD with a nature-inspired Plaza designed by SLA Architects, anchored by a deconstructed airplane artifact by Anex Works. Open daily and free for all to enjoy, the YZD Plaza is complete with picnic tables and swings, offering a welcoming space to gather, relax, and connect. It reflects YZD’s commitment to transforming underused space into vibrant places for art, community, and creativity in action.

YZD Indigenous Hub

The YZD Indigenous Hub is a seasonal, pop-up garden. We invite you to explore this space, learn about Indigenous gardening and agricultural practices, and reflect on the deep relationships between land, people, plants, and place.

Create with Nature

This September, we’re slowing down and turning to nature for inspiration—learning to create with sunlight, petals, pulp, and more. From cyanotype printing to zero-waste fabric flowers, each session offers a hands-on opportunity to make something beautiful and connect with the world around you.
