The Plaza
Imagination takes flight at YZD with a nature-inspired Plaza designed by SLA Architects, anchored by a deconstructed airplane artifact by Anex Works. Open daily and free for all to enjoy, the YZD Plaza is complete with picnic tables and swings, offering a welcoming space to gather, relax, and connect. It reflects YZD’s commitment to transforming underused space into vibrant places for art, community, and creativity in action.

Winter Stations

Led by Peter Chorabik, a third-generation beekeeper with deep family roots in Downsview, 40 hives thrive here as part of a broader commitment to sustainability and community. Each jar of honey tells the story of a place evolving from industrial lands into a model for resilient, purposeful urban living. Through partnerships like these, YZD is shaping a future where nature, creativity, and stewardship come together.
