YZD Experience Centre
Come experience YZD and see firsthand how imagination, creativity, and community are transforming this place. Discover the possibilities taking shape today—and get a glimpse of the vibrant future we’re building.
The Plaza
Imagination takes flight at YZD with a refreshed, nature-inspired Plaza designed by SLA Architects, anchored by a deconstructed airplane artifact by Anex Works. Open daily and free for all to enjoy, the YZD Plaza now features expanded amenities and added comfort, including a basketball court and more shade throughout the space.
YZD Indigenous Hub
The YZD Indigenous Hub is a seasonal, pop-up garden. We invite you to explore this space, learn about Indigenous gardening and agricultural practices, and reflect on the deep relationships between land, people, plants, and place.
YZD Art Walk
Take a walk through the past, present, and future of YZD in a one-of-a-kind gallery experience.
Winter Stations
YZD will temporarily showcase select installations from Winter Stations—an international design competition that brings large-scale, interactive public art to life. Originally displayed on Toronto’s east end beaches, these striking works transform YZD into a bold and creative experience.
YZD Beehives
The beehives at YZD are more than homes for bees—they’re a symbol of the site’s transformation. Led by Peter Chorabik, a third-generation beekeeper with deep family roots in Downsview, 40 hives thrive here as part of a broader commitment to sustainability and community.
